a millennium-old art treasure from the Himalayas
Master Dorjee
Master Dorjee is a hereditary Thangka painter from the renowned Regong cultural zone on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a land that preserves a thousand years of authentic Tibetan Buddhist painting heritage. Born into a multi-generational family of Thangka artisans, he embarked on rigorous apprenticeship training at the age of twelve. For decades, he has dedicated himself to mastering ancient standards of Thangka proportional scriptures, the grinding of natural mineral pigments, ritual iconography for Buddha figures, and meditative spiritual cultivation—the heart of authentic Thangka creation.
Master Dolma
Raised within an established Himalayan thangka artistic lineage, Master Dolma began her formal apprenticeship under senior lineage painters in her teenage years, dedicating decades to mastering the precise, ritual-bound craft of sacred thangka painting. She joined Bodhi Thangka Gallery in 2019. She upholds unaltered ancient Himalayan painting traditions, mixing all pigments by hand from pure minerals, stones, and native botanicals—rejecting synthetic paints and factory printing entirely. Every delicate line, gold leaf detail, and layered hue is rendered with meditative focus and reverence for the spiritual iconography. Balancing meticulous technical precision with soft, soulful artistic expression, her thangkas have gained favor with North American fine art collectors, spiritual practitioners, and luxury interior curators. Each finished piece carries the quiet heritage and devotional spirit of centuries of Himalayan sacred art.
Master Karma
A lineage thangka master and spiritual lama with over forty years of practice. Trained by elder sacred artisans, he paints fully handmade thangkas with hand-ground natural mineral pigments, strictly following ancient canonical painting traditions.

The Sacred Consecration of a Thangka
A journey to becoming a sacred object of worship and reverence is marked by a powerful and transformative ritual in Buddhist practice, the consecration. Through a series of prayers, mantras, offerings, and sacred invocations, the thangka is imbued with divine energy. It is no longer merely an artistic expression but becomes a living symbol of the spiritual world, a channel through which the practitioner can access the wisdom and blessings of the divine. In this sacred space, the thangka serves as both a visual focal point and a spiritual guide, helping practitioners deepen their understanding and cultivate compassion and wisdom. As requested, we can take your thangka to the revered monasteries and Rinpoches for consecration and blessings.
We believe collecting art should be an intimate journey—where every thangka reveals a story of heritage, mastery, and connection.
