1. Order Production & Processing Timeline
All hand-painted thangkas require detailed finishing work by artisans and quality inspection before shipment.
- In-stock standard designs: 3–10 business days for painting, inspection and packaging
- Custom-sized & custom-composition thangkas: 10–30 business days production lead time
Once your package is picked up by the courier, we will send a shipping notification email immediately. Rush production is unavailable for custom thangka orders.
2. Shipping Carriers & Estimated Delivery Times
We ship worldwide via trackable international couriers: DHL, FedEx, UPS
- United States & Canada: 5–10 business days after dispatch
- Europe, United Kingdom, Australia: 7–14 business days after dispatch
- All other global destinations: 10–20 business days after dispatch
A full tracking number will be sent to your registered email address for every order. All delivery times are estimates only. Bodhi Thangka accepts no liability for delays caused by customs backlogs, carrier capacity issues, force majeure or unforeseen logistics disruptions.
3. Shipping Fee Calculation
Final shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on package weight, dimensions, destination country, and insurance selection:
- Mini gau pendant thangkas: Flat fixed international shipping rate
- For high-value orders exceeding $1,000 USD, shipping insurance is highly recommended. Insurance premiums will be added to your checkout total to cover loss or damage during transit.
4. Customs Duties, Taxes & Import Charges
The buyer bears full responsibility for all import duties, consumption tax, VAT, customs brokerage fees and handling charges imposed by the customs authority of your receiving country.
We strictly declare the actual retail value of artworks in compliance with international shipping regulations. We cannot mark packages as "gifts" to evade customs tax, as this practice violates cross-border logistics laws and will not be accommodated by our gallery.
5. Packaging Protection & Damage Claim Rules
Every thangka is securely packaged with shock-resistant rigid tubes, acid-free protective paper, foam padding and moisture barrier film to prevent scratches, creases, water damage and color fading.
- If your parcel arrives damaged: You must submit clear photos and videos of the unopened outer box plus the damaged artwork within 24 hours of delivery signature. After we verify valid damage evidence, we offer two resolutions: free repainting & reshipment, or partial monetary refund.
- Damage claims submitted more than 24 hours after delivery will be rejected without exception.
- Lost-in-transit parcels: We will only launch official courier trace investigations 15 business days post-dispatch. Once the courier confirms full loss of the package, the gallery will repaint and reship your thangka free of charge.
6. Shipping Restrictions
We do not deliver to PO boxes, military APO/FPO addresses, or countries subject to international trade sanctions.
7. Responsibility for Accurate Shipping Address
You must provide a complete, error-free delivery address at checkout, including postal/zip code, unit/apartment number and valid contact phone number.
Bodhi Thangka is not liable for failed deliveries, redelivery surcharges or lost packages resulting from misspelled, incomplete or outdated address details provided by the buyer. Any forwarding fees incurred from address modifications after an order has been dispatched must be covered by the customer.
8. Undelivered & Returned Parcels
If a package is returned to our warehouse due to failed delivery, customer refusal of acceptance, or invalid address, the buyer is responsible for covering both return shipping fees and new outbound shipping costs for re-delivery.
Returned packages will only be stored for a maximum of 30 calendar days. Unclaimed goods after this storage period will be disposed of, with no refund issued.
